The holidays are approaching, there will be a lot of free time, so why not use it for any of amazing Heroes mods. I chose the best Heroes III mods (easy to install) and I also added bonus modifications for Heroes II and Heroes V.

Heroes III ERA 3 Launcher

ERA 3 Launcher will help you quickly install and run these 3 modifications: In the Wake of Gods (WoG/ERA), Horn of the Abyss (HotA) and Master of Puppets (MoP). This launcher replaces ERA Gaming build.

ERA 3 Launcher is the easiest way to play In the Wake of Gods (ERA 3). It’s stable, has a lot of new improvements, and already has plenty of modifications, so you don’t need anything else.

Advanced Classes mod for ERA 3

Advanced Classes Mod, a gameplay enhancing mod, that features revamped skill and spell systems, new artifacts and artifacts set, 2 dozens of new and reworked specialities, 6 new subclasses with uniquw abilities and more. The idea of this mod was to create 2 new skill ranks — Master and Grandmaster, which are gained right after Expert rank, as well as a completely new hero class — adventurer.

Third Upgrades mod for ERA 3

If you want more creatures, more artifacts, more everything…, be sure to try Third Upgrades mod (check YT videos). Each faction now contains the 3rd upgrade unit + the eighth alternative unit.

Horn of the Abyss

Horn of the Abyss is an unofficial – yet a true – Heroes of Might and Magic 3 expansion. It is made by a mostly Russian composed crew with various talented people. The expansion features – to name a few things – a completely new town ‘Cove’ (Pirates). HotA fixes bugs, adds a host of new expansion content, features an updated editor – and much more.

Platform and installing

The whole modification is created by reverse-engineering Shadow of Death files. So, Horn of the Abyss is to be installed on top of clean Heroes III: SoD or Complete edition. We do not guarantee stable work on any “optimized builds” or with mods that can change original game files (except for HD mod, which is 100% compatible). Install to a folder with either clean SoD or Complete or older version of HotA.

fHeroes 2 engine

Free Heroes of Might and Magic II Resurrection is not only a remake of the original Heroes 2 game for current platforms but it also includes modifications of the game interface so that players can use certain mechanics in the most comfortable and intuitive way.

Heroes 4 HD mod

Heroes 4 HD mod allows play Heroes of Might and Magic IV on 16:9, 16:10 screens. It is based on HoMM IV GL Wrapper, so it requires it. But download package has already the last version of GL Wrapper, so you don’t need download it separately.

Might & Magic: Heroes 5.5

Might & Magic: Heroes 5.5 is an unofficial expansion pack for Heroes 5 Tribes of the East or Heroes 5 Complete and a spiritual successor to the popular WoG modification for Heroes 3. The pack will include many new adventure objects, new larger battlefields, new heroes, new classes, new specializations, new skills, new artifacts, new adventure spells, new HD textures and a greatly improved RMG with more than 60 ‘visualized’ Templates.

Bonus: New Year mod for Heroes 2

The New Year Mod for Heroes of Might and Magic II is a Christmas-themed graphical conversion of HoMM2 assets intended to keep the original graphic style. The idea of this mod was born suddenly, when a few fellow forum members on Russian HandBookHMM.ru community in December 2014 thought about a new form of an offline tournament which would be able to revive the HoMM2 gaming community to some degree.
