Heroes 3 Remake reveals 4 development cycles and announces upcoming playtests

The developers of the upcoming Heroes 3 Remake have published a new video detailing their development plans for the coming months.

The roadmap is divided into four dedicated cycles:

Cycle 1 – Visuals & Customization

  • Object scaling
  • Lighting
  • Colors
  • UI/UX

Cycle 2 – Game Modes & Quality of Life

Cycle 3 – User-Generated Content

  • Map Editor
  • Modding
  • Custom content

Cycle 4 – Multiplayer & Long-Term Support

  • Multiplayer
  • PvP
  • Hotseat
  • Long-term operations

One of the more interesting parts is the developers’ response to community feedback. They say they have already started refining several model designs based on feedback from players (hope Gorgon is among them too).

They also seem to recognize that the Heroes III community is split between players who want a very faithful recreation of the original and those who prefer a more modern interpretation. Their solution appears to be giving players more control over certain visual aspects of the game.

The biggest news is that playtest recruitment is expected to open in mid-October.

There is still no release date, but the project seems to be moving into a much more active testing and community-feedback phase.
