My friends, it makes absolutely no sense to wait for the factory by the new year 2021-2022. The team is just getting back on track after the summer break, and there is still plenty of work ahead.

The readiness of the graphic assests == the readiness of the city. Yes, sometimes this is the most time-consuming and laborious part, but it doesn’t mean that once the graphics are done, the city is ready for release. The tasks of sound design, code, gameplay, and campaign readiness do not remove the graphics. Perhaps if the work on the code, campaign and everything else went hand in hand with the graphics right from 2018, everything would be ready, but that’s life as it happens. And project participants have it as well as the players, so sometimes even a simple thing can take a long time to implement simply because a person has a few months in a row not at all to do it.

Would the city have come out sooner if Docent had been with us? Absolutely not. And I can’t even begin to imagine what it would be at this point. Docent himself in 2020 was already anxious to get the city out and on to the new project, giving overly optimistic estimates about the scope and speed of the remaining work. The “new project” is not worth waiting for; no one is working on it and there is essentially nothing to work on – there have been only discussions without any minimal preparatory work being started.

As for a specific deadline – When it’s done, I have nothing more to say. The work is going on and there are no hitches or obstacles. All that is needed is time. I myself sincerely hope it won’t take until 2023).

Друзья мои, совершенно бессмысленно ждать фабрику к новому году 2021-2022. Команда только-только вновь разгоняется после летней передышки, а впереди еще достаточно работы.
Готовность графических ассетов =\= готовность города. Да, порой, это самая кропотливая и времязатратная часть, но это вовсе не означает что как только графика сделана, то город готов к выпуску. Задач по звуковому дизайну, коду, геймлпею, кампании готовность графики не снимает. Возможно, если бы работы по коду, кампании и всему остальному шли параллельно графике сразу с 2018 года, то все бы уже было и готово, но как уж складывается жизнь. А она у участников проекта есть как и у игроков, поэтому порой даже простая вещь может занять длительное время в реализации просто потому что человеку несколько месяцев подряд совсем не до этого.

Вышел бы город раньше если бы Доцент был с нами? Точно нет. И я даже не берусь представить что бы на нынешний момент было. Доцент в 2020 уже сам хотел побыстрее выпустить город и переходить к новому проекту, давая излишне оптимистичные оценки по объему и скорости выполнения оставшихся работ. “Новый проект” же теперь вообще не стоит ожидать, никто над этим не работает, да и по сути-то не над чем работать – велись только лишь обсуждения, без начала какой-то минимальной подготовительной работы.

Что касается конкретных сроков – When it’s done, больше мне сказать не чего. Работа идет, никаких затыков и препятствий нет. Нужно лишь время. Сам то я искренне надеюсь что до 2023 это дело не затянется)
