Third Upgrade Mod v1.3.0 (ERA 2.9.12)

The main update of this version are the great graphic variety that I added and that are generated freely in a random map. The reason for this update is to stimulate the desire to collect resources, the human mind is easily surprised by the new things it sees and wants to possess. By including new resource variants, people will once again have the same thrill of collecting as the first time they played the game.

Third Upgrades Creature Specialization

Heroes who specialize in creatures have the following scaling:

  • Attack/Defense: +1 Att/Def for every 7 hero levels
  • Damage: Hero Level: Value (based on creature level)
  • Health: 9% + 1* Hero Level

This bonus is added to the creatures only in combat! The normal Heroes 3 mechanic (+1 Speed and +Att/Def after each x-level) still works and can be seen directly on your creature in the hero screen. You will find this scaling much fairer then the busted WoG script, where each creature ended with +50 Att/Def after enough hero levels. If you are no fan of this script you can just delete the “Creature Specialization Third Upgrade Mod” and “81 wog – disable options” erm file in the Data/s folder.

Specials Buildings for Upgrades

Now every town can have a new building that is used as a general ‘upgrade guild’. Thanks to this the player will be able to upgrade creatures in the town to their new forms. Each town type has a different building, a different description, a different animation and a different cost. To try to build the new building RIGHT-click on your Town Hall (or Village Hall, City Hall, or Capitol). You have always only one prerequisite to build – you must have a Castle. And of course, you have to have the right resources:

  • for the Heavenly Tower (Castle) you need: 22000 gold, 30 gems and 30 ore
  • for the Order of The Sun (Rampart) you need: 20000 gold, 25 crystal and 40 wood
  • for the Cloud Castle (Tower) you need: 25000 gold, 30 gems and 15 mercury
  • for the Kreegans’ Gate (Inferno) you need: 19000 gold, 30 mercury and 15 sulfur
  • for the Hall of The Pit (Necropolis) you need: 21000 gold, 25 mercury and 35 wood
  • for the Underworld Entrance (Dungeon) you need: 23000 gold, 30 sulfur and 35 ore
  • for the Barbarian Citadel (Stronghold) you need: 19000 gold, 60 ore and 15 crystal
  • for the Temple of The Snake (Fortress) you need: 18000 gold, 50 wood and 20 sulfur
  • for the Escaton’s Crystal (Conflux) you need: 20000 gold, 30 crystal and 15 gems

    Hi there i got this error where i can’t upgrade the halberdier to templars instead it upgrades to a swordman, then crusaders upgrades to chavalier, marksmans upgrades to sharpshooters. How can i fix this?

    How you solve it? I have the same problem. With gnoll marauders too. They become werewolves instead “gnoll centaures”

    i just added the third mod upgrade into the hd rc laucher but i tried to right click the capitol and i dont get the option to buy the new mod. could someone please let me know what im doing wrong

    Is it possible to have necromancers to raise skeleton knights (lvl3)? If you have upgraded your skeletons to the third lvl you can’t get any new skeletons if you have a full army unless you save a spot for skeletons lvl one or two.

    Constantly crashes on AI turns with Era Gaming Build 1.35. I know it says that it works with 1.29, but that can no longer be downloaded. Could you please look into it, since that looks like an exciting mod.

    It appears turning off two WoG settings helped. Reached month 3 without a single crash. Still too early to say, but before it crashed at least once by the end of first month. Neutral Creature Bank Growth and Hero Specialization Boost.

    disabling “Neutral Creature Bank Growth” might be the correct move. That is a known bug when activating both mods.

    Another bug, potentially caused by this mod. I had 15 Seraphims, have enhanced war machines I on. Attacked dwelling of red bone dragons, took some with succubus. During combat, I used seraphim’s resurrection ability. After that, my first aid tent went twice in the row. And after battle, I had 15 First Aid Tents instead of 15 Seraphims. Their res might be bugged, but could’ve been caused by anything of that.

    I’m trying to use this mod, but whenever I try to build the upgrader building (right when I click on build where I see the price) the game crashes with critical error. Always. Can anyone help me? Thanks in advance! May the force be with you.

      Hi Obi-Wan,
      the problem is wog native dialogs, to fix that problem in the latest version of Assembly you have to copy wog native dialogs from the previous version of Assembly and replace it to the new one, the path is this: Mods/WoG/EraPlugins

        Since it sounds like you know what you are talking about, I have a question. I have wog installed using the heroes 3 launcher. I installed the third upgrade mod using the download on this page but for some reason, even though I can see it in the mods folder, it is not enabled in the mod manager. Any idea what I am doing wrong?

          if you see it in the mod manager, select it (click on it) and click on the button ENABLE.

        You definitely don’t have to look for these files anywhere, you probably made a wrong installation.
        Start as follows:
        1. Install GOG Heroes 3
        2. download and install ERA 3 (to the same directory)
        3. download and install TuM to the same directory
        4. run game

        or download and install ERA launcher http://heroes3wog.net/heroes-3-launcher-download/ and the just install TuM.
