The Unfrozen team has released Patch #13 for Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era, bringing a major new single-player map along with a substantial overhaul of Arena Mode, numerous quality-of-life improvements, bug fixes, balance changes, template adjustments, and updates to the map generator.
One of the biggest additions in the new patch is the large-scale single-player map “The Mysterious Island.”
New Single-Player Map: The Mysterious Island
Map designer Papyjama, creator of one of the most popular custom maps for Heroes of Might and Magic III, The Mysterious Island, has returned with an official remake of the iconic map.
The Unfrozen team has brought the classic map to life in Olden Era, adapting it to the game’s new mechanics, factions, and atmosphere while retaining the spirit of the original.
The Mysterious Island is a large-scale map featuring six playable factions, with its story taking inspiration from Jules Verne’s famous novel. According to Unfrozen, the story of The Mysterious Island is only just beginning. The narrative will be expanded through future updates as additional mechanics are introduced, including the underground level.
