The Sanctuary campaign has been lovingly ported to Heroes III and plays (almost) as well as it does in Heroes VI, featuring a brand new set of artifacts to boot!

Tears of Ashan v1.6.10 changelog:

Public Beta 1.6.10:

  • Galthran is no longer special by default
  • Added new combination artifacts: Abyssal Scale Mail (Cove set); Barkskin Shield (Rampart set); Flail of the Gladiator (Fortress set); Shadow Scale Mail (Dungeon set); Plate of the Dwarven King (Dwarven set)
  • Added new sets of artifacts: Dungeon set; Dwarven set
  • Reworked the Tower set of artifacts to grant +9 primary skill points per artifact; Cost reduced to 9000; Class reduced to Major
  • Made the primary stat point boosts provided by artifacts within a set uniform (e.g. Rampart set artifacts all grant +2 primary skill points)
  • Reworked the Class and Cost of all artifacts (all Combination artifacts will remain Relics regardless of their cost): 0–3499 = Treasure; 3500–6999 = Minor; 7000–9999 = Major; 10000+ = Relic
  • Changed the Cost of some artifacts to better represent their value
  • Replaced the Elemental Ring with the Book of Power (functionally the same but is a Miscellaneous artifact)
  • Increased the Gold and Artifact rewards from Uriel’s Temple
  • Increased the Artifact rewards from Dragon Utopias
  • Added 2 new tiers to Dragon Utopias
  • Uriel’s Marksman Health 2500 → 3000
  • Uriel’s Praetorian Health 4500 → 5000
  • Minor text and image fixes

Public Beta 1.6.9:

  • Changed all First Aid specialists to grant creatures a 1% per level bonus to their Health while equipped with a First Aid Tent (since the standard HOTA bonus does not yet work in VCMI)
  • All resource specialists now grant resources respective of their town’s primary resource
  • Added a compatibility layer for Courtyard, ensuring only the TOA version of Reconstruction is present

Public Beta 1.6.8:

  • Added Miranda (Plaguespreader, Poison specialist)
  • Added new spells: Aging, Disease, Reconstruction
  • Added a new combination artifact: Raiments of Shalassa (Sanctuary set)
  • Added lilypad decorations from WOG Graphic Fix to the Sanctuary submod
  • Orc Berserker Damage 2–5 → 3–6; Health 20 → 25

  • Added The Blood-Dimmed Tide, the third Sanctuary campaign map, as a single scenario
  • Added Haffayad (Death Knight, Offense specialist)
  • Changed Uriel’s Temple graphics to that of the H4 Angel dwelling; changed its battlefield to Magic Clouds
  • Updated the menu theme’s button positioning and a new button for Tears of Ashan campaigns
  • KNOWN ISSUE: The Sanctuary campaign crashes after completing the first map – this is being looked into

Public Beta 1.6.6:

  • Added two new fused combination artifacts: Archmage’s Codex and Elemental Ring
  • Added a new artifact: Frozen Chrysanthemum
  • Added heroes to the single scenario version of The Winding Stair (oops)
  • Added icons for Sanctuary’s siege tower

Public Beta 1.6.5:

  • Added Jezebeth (Gatekeeper, Succubus specialist)
  • Fixed Succubus line’s portraits
  • Altered the build path for Succubi to require Hell Hounds and Demons
  • Potentially fixed multiple appearances of Gating (special forms) appearing after levelling up
  • Armageddon’s Blade can now be combined with the Sword of Hellfire, Shield of the Damned, Breastplate of Brimstone, and Hellstorm Helmet

Public Beta 1.6.4:

  • Added the Succubus line of creatures as alternatives to Pit Fiends

Public Beta 1.6.3:

  • Added 4 new heroes: Kenta, Toshiro, Karloff, and Martina
  • Replaced heroes in The Fury and the Mire; Karloff and Martina now have patrol radii
  • Changed Sanctuary hero identifiers to allow for easier class organising in hero selection
  • Tweaked the positions of Kenage and Tsuan’s portraits

  • Removed some redundant mod dependencies for The Fury and the Mire
  • Added the Prophet set of artifacts
  • Added Light and Dark Elementals, able to be recruited from the Altar of Twilight
  • Replaced artifacts and creatures in The Fury and the Mire; Red now starts with all northern mines flagged and a Gem Pond in place of a Griffin Bastion
