With The Fire And Sword looks promising
Greetings! My name is Oleksandr Korniychuk and I develop indie games.
With The Fire And Sword is a turn-based computer strategy game with role-playing elements. Our game is a round-based PvP battle between multiple opponents until there is only one winner left. Each round you have the opportunity to improve your hero, army, artifacts, economy and more. The main goal of the game is to stay alive longer than your opponent. A huge list of creatures, heroes, artifacts, skills and abilities will help the player enjoy the game as if he is playing it for the first time, while he is familiar with the basic mechanics and principles of the game.
At the moment, the game is in the prototype stage and we are looking for a publisher and funding to complete the development of the game.
Game process
Before starting the main game, you will be given the option to choose one of the three game races. The set of these races is randomly assigned to the player as there will be 4 playable races available in the game (44 playable factions in later development). The player will also have access to a second one-time random chance to select a fraction.
After choosing a faction, you will be given the option to choose one of three faction heroes. As before, the set of these heroes is given to the player randomly, since the game will have 12 playable heroes for each race (20 heroes in a more advanced stage of development, which will increase the number to 800). The player will also have access to a second one-time random chance to select a hero.
After choosing a hero, you will be given the option to choose one of three artifacts. As in the previous cases, a set of these artifacts is given to the player randomly, since about 250 will be available in the game (up to 400 in more advanced stages of development). The player will also have access to a repeatable one-time random artifact selection.
Eight players enter the game space, and each player has a checkerboard-like board (a version of it) on which they can place their units. All actions will take place on this field.
Before the start of each battle, players will be given one + one for each subsequent round of increasing creatures from a certain faction.
Then the units can be dragged from the hero’s pocket to the battlefield, after which the battle itself will begin. At least 70% of the total number of units in a player’s pocket must be on the battlefield. Units that survive the battle will be available in the next battle.
At the end of each round, you will receive one of three artifacts to choose from. More valuable artifacts will become available to you at certain intervals in the match. As before, the player will have access to one artifact roll.
At the end of each round, you will receive money based on how well you performed. You will use gold to increase unit growth. Additional units will become available before the start of the next battle.
At the end of each round, you’ll gain experience regardless of how well you performed, after which you can choose one of the hero upgrades. EXP levels up your character, which increases the number of units you can place on the battlefield, as well as the ability to increase the growth of more expensive units in the shop.
As players lose in individual rounds, they will slowly drop out of the running. This is a smart approach to building and maintaining your team to increase your chances of standing last.
Basically, your goal is to create a strong hero, form an army to match him, and overcome the conflict by winning rounds and spending your gold and experience wisely.
Heroes and units on the battlefield
Each hero and unit has unique active or passive abilities, which allows you to have a huge number of combinations to create your own game strategy. By improving certain abilities of the hero, it makes sense to hire certain units into the army.
Your character’s level determines how many units you can place on the battlefield. Don’t neglect it! There is a serious advantage to be gained by having one extra troop on the battlefield than your opponents.
If you place your units correctly, success awaits! Try to place units correctly so that those with a lot of HP and melee are closer to the enemy, and those with lower HP and ranged are at the back.
Subjects
In Fire and Sword, after each battle you will receive at least one artifact of your choice. Once you’ve made your choice, the item will appear in your inventory. You can then select and drag an item onto your hero that you think will benefit you the most.
When you equip items, think about how it will benefit a hero or a specific unit. Also, do not forget about items that do not affect the hero and units on the battlefield, but improve your economy. Choose wisely.
Rank
By participating in matches and ranking high, you can climb the rankings. There are eight ranks in the game.
Duel 2×2
“Duel 2×2” differs from the normal mode in that you and your friend are invited to choose a hero, and the battle takes place between four heroes at once on the same battlefield.
“Duel 2×2” is a more complex mode of the same game, which requires understanding and developing a joint strategy with your ally.
Main features and mechanics: optimal game time (as the most important element of game optimization, which will allow you to complete games and enjoy new ones again and again in a short period of time), updated gameplay (new setting of tasks and objectives). for the game), updated design of the battlefield, updated set of characteristics of creatures, new models of units and heroes, modernization and development of new factions (after 4 basic factions, it is planned to gradually introduce 40 completely new factions), the number of units in the army (x9), the variety of heroes in factions.
Player goals
One of the main aspects of the game is the player ranking system and the completion of certain achievements in the game, for which you can gain access to unique heroes, landscapes and more. This is mainly done by gaining experience in battles and leveling up the hero to a new level in the ranking system.
The main source of experience is winning the battle. If the hero loses a battle, he loses a certain amount of experience. At the end of each season, the best player of the season will be determined according to the rating system, who will receive a monetary reward. The reward pool will be accumulated from the sale of in-game items. In the future, it is planned to organize small tournaments and competitions, which will be encouraged with gifts and titles.
