Might & Magic: FATES
New Might and Magic AAA game is probably called Might & Magic: FATES. Last month Ubisoft registered 2 new domains: mightandmagicfates.com and might-and-magic-fates.com. We already knew that a Might & Magic game is being made by at least one Ubisoft studio, since a job advert for a role at Ubisoft Shanghai mentioned the franchise last year.
A different job ad is focusing a lot on the sought developer’s “open world” experience, indicating that Might & Magic: Fates is going to be an open-world RPG.
Might & Magic – not to be confused with its popular spin-off series, Heroes of Might & Magic – is a RPG series traditionally played from a first-person perspective. New World Computing put out the title that started it all in 1986, continuing to release entries until 2002. In 2003, Ubisoft bought the IP from The 3DO Company, which had acquired New World Computing in 1996 and filed for bankruptcy around that time.
We will probably never see Heroes VIII.
