Cathedral Town v1.0 (VCMI)
For me, Cathedral Town is a true legend of Heroes 3. I was really hoping that this dark counterpart of the Castle faction would appear in Horn of the Abyss, but after years of waiting, I lost hope. Luckily, the community stepped in, and a VCMI modification called Cathedral Town was created, featuring the original units and town design. Mod creator: Ben Yan.
More information about Cathedral Town will be available tomorrow. The modification is available only for VCMI daily builds and will not work with the current version 0.99.
I tested the mod more thoroughly and took plenty of screenshots to better illustrate what the town looks like. Overall, it is very well made, and the units fit the Heroes 3 style. However, their animations are a weak point. The level 7 unit, Chasteners, has very few animations, so teleportation (like the Devil) was chosen for movement—you won’t see it flying. Its attack animation is also quite minimal. If the animations were improved, this could be the best custom town ever made for VCMI.

Does anyone know if the author is working on this town? Like upgrading the animations etc?
Hi Jeremy, unfortunately, as with most modifications to VCMI, the author has abandoned it. :/
That’s a real shame, because this is probably the best looking town for VCMI, I mean evil side of castle, the units fit perfectly and it’s looking fantastic. A pitty that HotA crew probably abonded the Cathedral as well :/
You are absolutely right, I like the town concept very much. Unfortunately, the authors decided otherwise…
Tak jsem se v tom vrtal celé dopoledne a teď už nefunguje žádná verze VCMI a nepomůže ani odinstalace, nejspíš to bude uložené ještě někde v systému…
Uf, skús najprv reštartovať PC, potom odinštaluj všetky verzie VCMI a zmaž jeho dáta v program files a aj v C:\Users\%USERNAME%\Documents\My Games\vcmi\.
Reštartuj pC ešte raz, pomocou CCleanera vymaž registre a skús si najprv nainštalovať len základnú verziu VCMI, bez modifikácií, konkrétne tento build: https://builds.vcmi.download/branch/develop/Windows/VCMI-branch-develop-3fd8faf.exe
Zkoušel jsem na verzi 0.97 ale stále nejde spustit… je někde přesný postup?
