Factory, Forge and Bulwark coming to Heroes III: The Board Game?
During the stream celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Heroes of Might and Magic series, we also got an announcement of three new expansions for the board game adaptation, Heroes III: The Board Game.
For some reason unknown to me, I completely missed this trailer, which made the announcement even more surprising.
The three new factions were only teased, but it’s safe to assume we’ll be getting Factory, originally introduced in the Horn of the Abyss mod, as well as Forge — a concept that was entirely scrapped in the past due to its sci-fi elements. The third town appears to be either Bulwark or Vori!

That said, I’d bet that Bulwark will eventually make its way into the board game as well. This might even explain why the new Bulwark town in Horn of the Abyss was released earlier and without a campaign, perhaps to let players try out this new faction digitally first, before seeing it adapted into the board game too.
These new expansions will only be fully revealed in a few months (Q2 2026), so for now, all of this remains pure speculation. However, considering that the board game adaptation already includes the pirate faction Cove, which also originates from Horn of the Abyss, it wouldn’t surprise me at all if Factory and Bulwark were next in line.
