Discover Aeos’s backstory – Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era
Aeos was just a child when the Hive attacked her village. As usual, the terrible creatures ravaged and burned everything indiscriminately. Neither the meager village militia nor the prayers of the church priests could stop them.
But when another clawed appendage grabbed the orphaned girl, who had been raised at the temple, and scorched her face with infernal flames, a miracle occurred. The heavens parted, and the demonic servant was struck by a radiant beam of light.
The creature died on the spot, and the others quickly scattered. Unfortunately, little remained of the village by then, and Aeos herself had also suffered from the attack. Her face was burned by the demonic insect’s touch, while the shining ray of sunlight took away her ordinary human vision and the gift of speech.
However, she saw the Truth. And this truth was that the Sun had chosen her for a sacred mission. A mission in which the rays of the Sun must reach every corner of the world, even the darkest ones. And from there, it would be revealed who is righteous and who is sinful.
Aeos does not speak, fears nothing, and does not hesitate before anything. It is said that she does not eat or drink. Perhaps she is not entirely human. The church officially recognized Aeos as a saint, blessed by the Sun, and anyone who stands under her banner knows they are doing the right thing. Even thawed out spirits, wailing souls, and demonic servants — all are welcomed by her on the sacred crusade.
