It looks like the year 2022 will bring us several games in the style of Heroes of Might and Magic and a board game Kickstarter campaign will begin in November.

And it is quite possible that the Horn of the Abyss v1.7 will be released in 2022. I chose the games myself, so if I missed something or I missed a game, write me in the comments.

Song of Conquest

Probably the most awaited game among Heroes III fans – Song of Conquest (SoC) is classic turn-based strategy adventure that fuses RPG, armed conflict and kingdom management. Raise mighty armies, wield ancient magic and conquer distant lands to build an empire that bards will sing about for centuries!

Master of Magic Remake

The second most anticipated project for me is a Master of Magic remake. Master of Magic (MoM) is a combination of an RPG and turn-based strategy game, a remake of a classic from the 90s.You take up the role of one of 14 unique and diverse great wizards who compete with each other to dominate the worlds of Arcanus and Myrror.

I played this game very often, mainly because I didn’t have an SVGA monitor and I couldn’t run Heroes 1 and 2.

Hero’s Hour

Hero’s Hour (HH) is turn-based strategy RPG (you will recognize the inspiration in Heroes adventure map the first time you run it) with real-time cute pixelized combat. Hero’s Hour coming in early 2022!

The Dragoness: Command of the Flame

The Dragoness mixes HOMM-like exploration, town-building and turn-based strategic combat, with a roguelite twist. Choose your fights, paths and skills as you explore a world ravaged by war. Gather and manage your army of beasts, collect resources and expand your town.

Kings Bounty II (patch 2)

I really like the Kings Bounty series and that’s why I was looking forward to the new Kings Bounty II.  The game was released last year, but in a rather bad technical condition and its ratings were not very good either. For this reason, it is worth waiting for a big patch, which will be available in early 2022. It is quite possible that a datadisk / DLC will also be released in 2022.

Horn of the Abyss v1.7 (Heroes 3 mod)

It is really very likely that Horn of the Abyss version 1.7 featuring Factory town will be released in 2023.

The Succession Wars (Heroes 3 mod)

Heroes of Might and Magic III: The Succession Wars is a total conversion of Heroes III dedicated to the fairy-tale atmosphere and graphic style of its prequel, Heroes II. The modification adds a lot of new content, such as creatures, castles, and artifacts to name a few, and provides fresh gaming impressions as well as a great amount of nostalgic feelings at the same time.

Day of Reckoning (Heroes 3 mod)

Day of Reckoning (DoR) is a new modification for Heroes 3 Complete. You can expect new creatures, heroes, artifacts, graphics…Vori elves.. etc… There will be more information coming out in the near future.

In November 2022, a Heroes of Might & Magic III: The Board Game launches its Kickstarter campaign.

Fanstratics

Fanstratics (FST) is spiritual successor, from the lead game designer of Heroes of Might and Magic III. Fanstratics is currently in ongoing development. In 2022 we will probably see some townscape concept art, and in-game mock-ups of the Main Menu, Adventure Screen, and a Townscape. With any luck, by the end of the year, maybe a Battlefield mock-up and a very short in-game video.
