HoMM 3 Online Savegame Editor
vlucas has successfully ported the Windows version of Heroes3 Savegame Editor to a web based application with the assistance of Grok 4.5 running in Cursor. The new browser version allows players to edit Heroes III save files directly online and download the modified save once the changes are complete. Since everything runs entirely in the browser, there is no need to download or install any software.

According to vlucas, the project was inspired by a personal gameplay situation. After accidentally choosing an unwanted secondary skill for one of his heroes, he wanted a quick way to remove it without installing the original Windows application on his desktop PC. Instead, he challenged an AI model to recreate the editor as a web application.
Open a Heroes of Might and Magic III save and change hero stats, secondary skills, army stacks, war machines, artifacts, inventory, and known spells. Download the edited save when you are done and put it back in your saves folder.
Savegame Editor Supported games & files
- Classic expansions (Restoration of Erathia, Armageddon’s Blade, Shadow of Death, and related builds)
- Horn of the Abyss (HotA), including Cove, Factory, and Bulwark content where the save version supports it
- Save types: .GM1, .GM2, and campaign .CGM
