HoMM: Olden Era – Necropolis vampire hero Natalida and her Undead pet
Meet Natalida, once a victim of a vampire’s obsession, now a member of a pack of undead beasts. Betrayed by mortals, she sought refuge in the wild among creatures abandoned by necromancers.

Natalida was bitten a long time ago and it was not a pleasant story. Rufus, the local vampire lord, became infatuated with the pretty elven girl and decided to make her his eternal wife. He didn’t bother asking for her consent.
She wanted to escape, but there was nowhere to run because of Rufus’ influence among both the vampires and the local aristocrats. The elder of her native village, where she tried to take refuge, immediately turned her in for a handsome reward. The same thing happened in the guild of a neighboring town.
That’s when Natalida realized that she couldn’t trust the bipeds: mortals either feared her or wanted to return her to her “master” for a generous fee. So the next time she had a chance, she escaped into the forest. They didn’t find her there and that’s where Natalida decided to live, gradually turning into a beast.
She found out that she wasn’t alone. Sometimes necromancers would raise beasts on purpose or by accident, then they would forget about them or the animals would escape, or unintentionally come back to life after the owner was already dead. These creatures had nowhere to go, just like Natalida.
A pack quickly formed around her. These beasties trusted her because Natalida’s instincts allowed her to speak to them in their language and she trusted them because dogs didn’t need money and titles. To this day, Natalida finds it easier to behave as the alpha than as a member of society, but ever since she gained this power, she started venturing out into the world for the good of her pack.
