Heroes of Might and Magic 3: Did you know?
nr. 41 – 50

Although Centaur and Centaur Captain have shooting sounds and sprites in the HoMM III files, these were not used in game. However, in Wake of Gods, the animation was used for the Centaur. Once a Centaur reaches the Adept rank, they gain the ability to shoot.

Psychic Elementals deal half damage to units that are immune to Mind spells. This includes Undead creatures, Elementals, Golems, Giants, Titans, and Black Dragons.

Magic Elementals deal half damage to units that are immune to magic. This includes Black Dragons and other Magic elementals.

Spell Scrolls, Tomes of Magic, and the Spellbinder’s Hat allow heroes to cast 3rd, 4th, and 5th level spells, even if they lack the Wisdom secondary skill to learn them in the usual way.

It’s possible to cast Adventure Map spells without a Spell Book by using spell scrolls, Tomes of Magic, the Sea Captain’s Hat, or the Spellbinder’s Hat.

Although the manual and spell description say that Dimension Door can only teleport your hero to a visible location, that’s not entirely true. You can teleport to a shrouded (fogged) square as long as it’s unoccupied.

Battles in Abandoned Mines, Gold Mines, and Crystal Caverns always take place on Subterranean terrain — even if the mine is located on the surface. Dungeon units gain their native terrain bonus in these battles.

Pressing the TAB key and typing GOSOLO into the console activates auto-play — the game will then play itself automatically.

Artifacts that boost land or water movement only need to be equipped at the end of your turn to gain the bonus. These include the Boots of Speed, Equestrian’s Gloves, Necklace of Ocean Guidance, and the Sea Captain’s Hat.

Only the Quiet Eye of the Dragon and resource-generating artifacts — where equipping multiple copies is possible — will stack their effects on the same hero. All other duplicate artifacts do not provide cumulative bonuses.
