‘Did You Know?’ is a collection of small bits of information, interesting facts, and bugs from Heroes of Might and Magic III. All entries are valid for the Shadow of Death and Complete editions of the game.

nr. 31 – 40

Crystal Dragon’s Crystal Generation ability grants 3 crystals at the start of each week, as long as the player has at least one Crystal Dragon in any of their armies.

With 5 Marketplaces in towns, visiting a Trading Post becomes unnecessary. With 6 or more Marketplaces, the exchange rate at a Trading Post is actually worse than in a town with a Marketplace.

Although the stats show that the Ballista has 24 shots, it actually has an unlimited number of shots.

In RoE version 1.2, Fear is a disabled Erath Magic spell. After defeating the Pyramid guards, the hero might be informed that they have learned the Fear spell,but the message also notes that the spell is disabled and will not appear in the spell book

The Breath Attack works differently for the first and second hex. Damage is calculated separately for each, with the base damage being rerolled, and the Luck bonus applying only to the first hex.

A hero can end up with no creatures if they deposit them at a Seer’s Hut or Quest Guard. When entering a battle in this state, the hero will instantly lose as soon as the pre-battle music finishes, with no chance to surrender.

One Phoenix have a 20% chance to raise one unit with rebirth ability, three Phoenixes have 60% chance to raise one unit, and 6 Phoenixes have 100% chance to raise one unit with a 20% chance of raising a second.

A petrified unit receives half damage when attacked (whether melee or ranged) but retaliates at full strength. While Petrifying attacks are blocked by the Recanter’s Cloak and Cursed Ground, they are not affected by the Orb of Inhibition.
