Might & Magic: Fates — Ubisoft returns to card battles after nearly a decade
Ubisoft has announced Might & Magic: Fates, a new free-to-play (but you can already purchase a starter pack for $50 🙂 ) trading card game developed with Immutable, set to launch in early 2026 on PC and mobile.
The game combines deck-building, hero progression, and tactical battles in the mystical “Sea of Fates,” with optional NFT features built on blockchain technology (yes, NTF in 2025…).
This isn’t the franchise’s first card game. In 2012, Ubisoft released Might & Magic: Duel of Champions, which built a loyal community before support was discontinued in 2016. Almost ten years later, Fates aims to revive that legacy with fresh mechanics such as heroes that level up mid-match, new card types, and cross-faction deck-building.
Personally, I don’t have high expectations—mainly because of the heavy focus on NFTs—but I still hope Fates will surprise us and become a worthy successor to Duel of Champions.
