Heroes 5: Reborn

Heroes of Might and Magic V: Reborn is a fan-made, non-commercial project aimed at creating a remaster of Heroes of Might and Magic V using the Unreal Engine 5.

The main goal of the Reborn project is to improve the game’s PvP gameplay and technical performance. After implementing the gameplay systems, our next objective will be to gradually enhance the game’s visuals using the capabilities of the new UE5 engine.

  • Reborn is planned as a full-scale remaster that we intend to support long-term and regularly update with new content.
  • The project is not open-source and is not intended as a base for modding.
  • Reborn will be distributed not as a standalone new game, but as a global mod/patch for the original title.

Reborn gameplay improvement plans:

  • Expanding the game with new content, including unique mechanics, new spells, abilities, artifacts, and units.
  • Developing accelerated gameplay modes, including an arena mode where players can create their build and go straight into battle without playing on the global map.
  • Enriching gameplay on the global map and increasing replayability through a more diverse map generation system.

Technical improvement plans:

  • Adding a wide range of QoL features to make the game more convenient and time-efficient, as well as fixing all bugs and flaws from the original game.
  • Creating a user-friendly multiplayer mode that will run through our own server, without requiring third-party software like Radmin, and introducing a ranking system.
  • Improving the stability and responsiveness of online play so that players no longer have to deal with input lag after every action or replay entire turns after brief connection drops.
