AvLee
AvLee is the homeland of the forest elves, located in the northern region of the continent of Antagarich. Its last king was Eldrich Parson, who, like many others, perished during the destruction of Enroth. AvLee is home to centaurs, sprites, dwarves, and other magical creatures related to the elves. Its capital city is Pierpont. In Heroes of Might and Magic III, this part of the world is represented by the Rampart faction.
AvLee once fought a bitter conflict with Erathia known as the “Timber War.” Erathia had aggressively expanded its territory northward, where it found forests rich in timber ideal for making weapons, especially bows. At that time, the ruler known as the Duke of AvLee demanded that Erathian forces withdraw from his lands and pay a significant sum of gold for the felled trees. This demand was rejected by King David of Erathia, prompting the Duke to declare war on Erathia.
The fighting lasted for more than a century and a half, but throughout this period neither side gained enough advantage to claim victory. In 786 AS, after so much human and elven blood had been spilled, both sides agreed to end the conflict.
The land where the war was fought was so devastated that it became uninhabitable. After the conflict, it came to be known as the “Contested Lands.”
