In Restoration of Erathia and Armageddon's Blade, there was a unique case where a creature's damage decreased after an upgrade — Hell Hounds dealt 2–7 damage, while their upgrade, Cerberi, dealt only 2–5. This was later corrected in The Shadow of Death.
