Photos from the HoMM: 30th Anniversary Retrospective Book Launch

Neal Hallford, the author of Heroes of Might and Magic: 30th Anniversary Retrospective, shared several photos on Reddit yesterday to celebrate the book’s release. The event was attended by the “father” of Might and Magic himself — Jon Van Caneghem, which I consider a great honor, as he is not very active in the community.

I’m genuinely jealous (in a good way) of everyone who managed to attend the event and get their copies signed by the legendary creators of Heroes of Might and Magic.

FROM LEFT TO RIGHT: Rob King (sound and music for Heroes 1-7), Phelan Sykes (lead artist on Heroes 3), Neal Hallford (author of Heroes of Might & Magic: 30th Anniversary Retrospective) and Jon Van Caneghem (creator of Might & Magic / Heroes of Might & Magic / founder of New World Computing).

Let it be known, here’s the first fan on planet Earth to get a signed copy of the Heroes of Might and Magic: 30th Anniversary Retrospective.

Phelan and Rob sign copies of the expansions for Heroes 3.

Jon shares the origin story of New World Computing.

Neal: “Crossing the streams. Yes, someone brought me a copy of Raymond E. Feist’s novelization of Betrayal at Krondor to sign. 🙂 If I hadn’t started out at New World Computing on Might & Magic III: Isles of Terra, I never would have met John Cutter, never would have moved to Dynamix, and there’d never have been a Betrayal at Krondor. Everything starts for me at New World Computing with Jon Van Caneghem.”
