Legend of the Red Dragon, or simply LoRD mod, is an older modification for Heroes 3 that works only with ERA 2.46f. The last version translated into English is 0.71, while a newer version, v1.4.1, is available in Russian.
Not recommended to put any additional patches and mods, even for the platform ERA.
HD mod is recommended to run only with the option Color Mode: 32 GDI, otherwise there will be no new effects with transparency.
Legend of the Red Dragon ENG installation:
- Install the GOG version of Heroes 3 Complete.
- Download the v0.71 archive and extract its contents to your computer.
- Run and install Era 2.46f.exe into the Heroes 3 Complete directory.
- Run and install eng_Legend_of_the_Red_Dragon_v071.exe into the Heroes 3 Complete directory.
- Done! Launch the mod using h3lord.exe.
The version tagged as ENG is not in english, it’s Russian. Also doesn’t seem to work, main campaign is named legend of the red dragon, but clicking still shows the WoG campaigns.
Also doens’t work with any modern ERA. Got it working with ERA 2.46 downloaded from here.
Hi, thanks for the notice! v0.84 is indeed not translated into English, or maybe I mixed up the files. I’m working on fixing it. I’ve also updated the modification details to make them clearer.
